Fairway boldly goes where a whole bunch of other people have already gone. However, since AEG recently released a mass produced version of The Captain is Dead, Fairway thought he’d take the time and review The Captain is Dead: TOPOD version.  That is “The Original Print on Demand” version he picked up from The Game Crafter.

Terraforming Mars – Review

I’m not sure if it has more to do with science or the stunning crimson vistas, but lately it seems like everyone is packing their bags for Mars. The red planet has been a beacon for human imagination for years, from Robert Heinlein’s The Green Hills of Earth to NASA’s push to the stars. Novelist Andy Weir stranded us on Mars in 2011, an adventure echoed four years later in Ridley Scott’s big screen adaptation of The Martian. Now game designer Jacob Fryxelius has set his sights on the planet as well, asking players to spend a couple hours bringing life and sustainability to the fourth rock from the Sun.

Universal Rule: Preview

Fairway has a long history with playing 4X games. 4X means “explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate.”  And with the release of Civilization VI, it only seems fitting to preview than Button Shy’s upcoming wallet game: Universal Rule. It’s a space-themed, 4X game in 18 cards.
